January


January Freeze 10K Series
Saturday, January 3, 10, 17, 24 with a make-up date of Jan 31. (Jan 31 will only be used if one of the other dates is canceled). Races to be held at Otsiningo Park, Binghamton, NY. Races start at 10:00 AM with race day registration starting at 9:00 AM. No pre-registration. Fee: free to TCRC members or $10 for non-members to cover all four races. All members are encouraged to pay their 2009 membership dues at the Freeze races. Refreshments will be provided.

The course is a paved 2 mile loop in the park. USAT&F Certified 10K, NY99065AM. The race starts at the rest area (with heated rest rooms) closest to I 81. A Google Map to Otsiningo Park is available. Enter from Bevier Street and proceed on the driveway past the northern end of the park. Make a right turn to the northern-most building (past the large white area near I-81 in Google Map) where registration is held.

Contact Tom Hamlin, phone 570-663-2030. Winners each week (Men & Women) will receive an award (no duplication of weekly awards) and there will be overall awards at the end of the series. To be eligble for the overall award, you must participate in a minimum of 3 races.

An early start at 9:30 AM is available for those expecting to run much slower than the main group of participants. Please register by 9:20 AM.


FLRC Indoor Track Meets
Sunday, Jan. 4. Held on the eight-lane, 200-meter track in Barton Hall on the Cornell University campus. No preregistration; sign up each meet, beginning at 8:15 AM. Registration closes at 9:15 AM. Smithville Day 5K Run and Walk

12th Annual Red Dress Run
Wednesday, June 24, 6:00 PM, Maine-Endwell High School, Endwell, NY. This year we again take to the roads for this extra special session of the TCRC Wednesday night running series. 40th King and Queen of the Mountain
Saturday, December 5. Distance is 3 to 4 miles. Race day only registration in Rooom 33 of the BU West Gym (Note change) between 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. TCRC members - $1 entry plus can of non perishable food for Chow. First 100 entries will get seating on the bus. Runners must board the buses between 11 a.m. and 11:15 a.m. to be taken to the race's mystery start. Runners must stay on roads but may otherwise choose their own course to the start of the finish, up the trail to the water towers (map) on the BU campus.

Use of GPS is NOT permitted. Race will be run regardless of weather conditions. After the race, you can return to the gym on foot via a dirt road from the water towers west to Bunn Hill Road and the Bunn Hill entrance to the campus.
